The Haven, breast cancer support
The Cause
Sally Prendergast, a Haven visitor was delighted to meet Gok Wan, when he was recently filming on location in Harrogate. Sally is 38 years old and lives in Leeds and is married with a young child. She was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 37. Sally recently had temporary make-up tattooing for her eyebrows at The Haven and admits she is quite image conscious, finding the loss of her hair, eyebrows, eyelashes very difficult to deal with. Her new eyebrows have given her a real boost though! Sally has recently finished her last radiotherapy treatment and meeting style Guru Gok Wan was a fitting celebration.
The client
The Haven, breast cancer support service.
What we did
We liaised with Gok Wan's TV researchers to organise a photo with Sally Prendergest, a visitor to the Haven. The PR also helped raise awareness of the Haven's Capital Appeal.
The result
A story which keeps on running, months after the photo and press release were issued.
For Example
The story has featured in Pick Me Up Magazine, Yorkshire Life, Yorkshire Post and Yorkshire Ridings Magazine, as well as the Yorkshire Evening Post and The Haven website.
